Embodied Healing & Clinical Competency: Treating Sexual Harm, Domestic Abuse, & Coercive Control
In this dynamic 6-hour CE training, participants will deepen their clinical competency in three crucial and interconnected areas of trauma care: domestic abuse and coercive control, embodiment in the therapeutic relationship, and healing sexuality after sexual harm. This session integrates evidence-based theory, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed practice to support survivors of profound relational trauma.
Clinicians and counselors will explore dynamics of coercive control and why a nuanced understanding is critical for safe and effective treatment. The training will also equip therapists with embodied tools for clinical presence and client co-regulation, while addressing how sexual harm disrupts identity, safety, and relational trust. Participants will leave with practical strategies to help clients reclaim their voice, body, and sense of self in the aftermath of abuse.
