Anxiety is a mind/body experience. Your body feels tense. You can’t sleep or you wake up with a racing heart in the middle of the night. You’re having trouble concentrating. Your thoughts are racing. You may even be making mistakes at work on simple things. There is enough nervous energy in your body to provide power to a major city like Dallas or Raleigh, and maybe even all of its surrounding areas. Sometimes your heart races, you have shortness of breath, and you think you might be having a heart attack – even though you’ve been told you’re in fine health. You’re trying to keep it together, but it’s taking a huge amount of energy.

You may have even tried everything you can think of to make the anxiety go away – eating, not eating, trying to push the feelings and fear away – but none of it is working.
